BEWARE OF THE CCKW BONNET

There were some post war bonnets manufactured in Europe for the MDAP CCKWs. They look nice but have major differences. The main difference is that it is obviously shorter and does not fit even with the front of the radiator guard. It is usually 1/2"-5/8" short. The other is that one has to modify the brace that is at the lower front in order that it may clear the top of the CCKW radiator support. There is a photo of a museum 4X4 Chevrolet that indicates it may have one of these bonnets.
It is difficult to detect one of these bonnets until installed. The usual indicator on a NOS one is the dark green color that the manufacturer used.
