I trawled the internet and found nothing, couldn't really call Bob Muller today so thought I'd ask here....
The G506 Cargo 1 1/2 ton truck came in two versions: without winch (G7107) and with winch (G7117).
The winch version has rivetted 'extension' plates on the side of the front frame rails, in a similar fashion to Half-tracks, CCKW's etc... Does anyone know if the Chevy frame is the same if all the fittings are stripped back - extension plates, etc... between the two versions? I have a suspicion the front frame rails/horns are cut shorter on the winch version truck, but this is just from studying pictures.
Does anyone know for sure?

Re: Chevy 1 1/2 ton G506 Frame question
Yes, the frame rails are shorter...and.....the springs and spring mounts are specific to winch non-winch trucks, the radiator support and front crossmember are also different, the lower splash sheilds are clipped to clear the additional rails as well.
Hope this helps
