What is correct length of dipstick for 235 engine

Hey Guys,
I changed the oil in my 1945 Chevy 1 1/2 Ton Cargo truck ( s/n 8NJ38-15382 and Engine # BV685910)and did not get a dipstick oil level indication after pouring in the correct 5 qts per the book and the 1 1/2 qts in the filter. I think I may have the wrong dipstick. My measures 21 1/2 inches in overall length and 15 1/8 inches from tip to the shoulder.
Can anyone please measure the dipstick in thier Chevrolet truck for me to compare?
