Can anyone tell me the width of their CCKW bed?

Post by daveyboy »

Need to know width only... outside of side panel to side panel, of if thats too difficult, inside dimension will do, same thing, inside side panel to the inside of the opposite side panel.

Thanks.

Hoping not to put anyone out and they sort of have this info at their finger tips.

I am trying to see how close a chevy bed is in relation to a CCKW bed, for pieces to use on mine.

again, thanks all.

Daveyboy,

I just realized that it must be you going by "choppa" on the Steel Soldiers" forum, asking for this same info. If you're interested, I have put together a set of drawings for the front panel of the Chevy 1-1/2 ton all steel bed. They were measured directly from the front panel of my truck. Perhaps it would be easier to have the parts fabricated, than to try and hack together the panel from a completely different box. Normally, the drawings are for sale for a nominal price... I'll offer you the set for an even better price!

Let me know if you're interested.

your right Kirk. I should just use those drawings and get a reputable shop to build a better front panel.

Ya see, my first attempt didnt work out so well. Shop I used messed it up pretty badly. My tailgate came out ok, but the front panel wasnt so.

I need a GOOD shop to do this. Cant seem to find a local shop that will tackle a one off job like this.
