41st Inf. Div. Reunion DUKW Ride to LCI-713

Hello,
The 41st Inf. Div. are having thier annual reunion this weekend in Vancouver, WA. Today I took 90 WWII 41st Inf. Div. Veterans & family members across the Columbia River to tour the LCI-713. A couple of these Veterans served on board the LCI-713 during WWII! I made 14 trips across the river! On the 11th trip my rudder cable broke!!!! One of the guys with me had to hand operate the tiller to steer the DUKW. I showed him what to do and we made 3 more trips across the river to get all the Veterans back. The Vets had a great time. 2 of them had been on a DUKW before. 1 guy was last on a DUKW in 1942 and the other 1944!

Hope everyone has a good time. My uncle served in the 41st Mechanized Cav Recon. in the Phillipines and Hirosima Japan, I have many of his suvineors.
