Many of todays CCKW mechanics are do it your selfers, while the majority of repairs you do may be successful, there are some, if done using what may seemingly be using latest technology, such as using RTV Sealants and Gasket Makers, could cause damage to your truck.
RTV Gasket material should never be used on Oil Pan Gaskets, Oil Pump Gaskets and fittings, or as internal sealants on Hydrovacs. The RTV has a nasty habit of reacting to oil and "stringing off" and fouling internal engine parts causing clogging and bearing failure. In the case of Hydrovac Brake Boosters, it will foul internal parts and could be potential for brake failure or worse than that.
