Air Service Command Identity Question

Some nice GMC pics here:

http://lcweb2.loc.gov/pp/pphome.html

search keywords "myrtle beach"

What is that airplane described as an A-20 the GMC's are recovering?

The A-20 was, I thought, a twin engine plane - could it be an AT-12 trainer??

Anyway nice trucks.

I think this is an A-24 which was the Army version of the Navy's Douglas Dauntless dive bomber.

I'll second the A-24 suggestion.

Thanks for your replies.

Hard to believe now that such wonderful machines as that plane would most likely have been cut up for scrap after the war unless some perhaps were converted to crop sprayers.
