Retreat at the Ranger motorpool

Post by RANGER »

A Sunday ritual at the Ranger Motorpool is my way of standing "Retreat" at sundown every Sunday, weather permitting. My CCKW is usually out in the yard to make room for whatever I am dubbing at, and it is fired up and makes a fast 3 mile round trip to blow out the cobwebs and give the engine a chance to get to operating temperature before shutdown . 3 miles in a CCKW will usually get the engine and exhaust up to temp where it may not in an MB. The GMC CCKW engine is usually under load when the CCKW is not going down hill.
