Post war USAF CCKWS

Had "FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY" stencilled in 1" letters along the lower portion of the Open Cab sides, or near of the bottom of the doors on Closed Cabs. Black was used on yellow painted Cabs, White was used on OD painted trucks< and yellow was used on Strata Blue painted trucks.

What was interesting was to see a CCKW off post at the local coffee shop or restaurant on a "coffee run" in the early 50s. Present day GIs have coffee makers in their shops.

We bought WWII surplus equipment and CCKWs from the local Air Force Base, I noticed that CCKWs with the Airfield Tank bodies would have their doors windshields and tank compartments sealed with the red tape similar to Duct Tape. I imagine it was the same tape used to tape over gun ports on aircraft. much of the other equipment would be processed the same way.
