HOW MANY TRUCKS-REALLY?

Post by RANGER »

Notice lots of profiles with many trucks listed, and this question comes to mind. Are they really collectible or just old hulks beyond identity and restoration?
I could list off an extended family of dozens of vehicles, but could not keep a straight face in doing so.

I have five, two that will drive, one that could be driving in a day with plumbing and wiring, and two stripped - one for building up now and one, erm, slightly longer term...

Someone like Jeff Chester could legitimately list two or three dozen, all good enough to class as vehicles rather than junk

After a lenghty battle with the local goverment over a small zoning issue, I was finally able move my motorpool to my backyard.

One nearly complete and been driving for 1/2 year, one running but no brakes, door hardware, or glass, one parts hulk, one rolling chassis, one trailer nearly complete needing full restoration, one crappy trailer needing decision (to be, or not to be....).

SO: one!

i have 50-60+maybe more, (95% of all the WWII dodges) all indoors,, most run.. i collect, nice pieces of each varient. get them running,, and start collecting the missing items, or upgrade existing pieces/ fenders etc. its a hobbie. like collecting stamps i guess in my mind,, you always want the missing stamp from your book, and you always want the best looking one. Preservation first,( get them cleaned out/ and dry) then restoration, when i have all the correct items, how many guys have projects torn down,, NOW what they say, i need to find this part...cant find a parts and .. years later its sold off....because they cant find the part or afford the project restoration, I want the best of the best....willing to wait, maybe i'll get them all out his spring, and take a few photos for you guys. i do enjoy driving one of the 47-56 PW civi, around.... jeff chester
thanks gordon,, (from scotland,), he has found me some gems in the states here........the earliest VC1 infact!!........

Hi Joel
approx 40 trucks, the number gets near 60 if you add trailers and bicycles.

On a good day 14 will run ( keeping batteries up is a life time struggle, and this new alcohol gas is causing havoc in alot of the older restorations.

The 14 are tagged and insured (this number includes the Edsel, Model T and John Deere.

Un tagged but runs are another 8

Have had running, but not done much other than store 5

Non running. 5

Parts trucks 13

Camper and daliy drivers 4

Bicycles (all military 7)

Trailers 11

Wow, some of you folks have a lot of trucks!

I have a civilian W300, and I've had a 46 Willys CJ2A. Years ago I had a M38A1 Jeep. Your collections are impressive, to say the least!

42 Chevy:

You may need to "resize" the pic (the longest side has to be less than 500 pixels?) and then save it as a new file, which you then upload.
