While maintaining the link, I discovered that the chrysler museum webpage has been redesigned, obscuring the build card ordering info somewhat.

I waited around three weeks from sending the letter with cash until getting the BC :D

About acess to other Build Cards - some time ago I asked if I can get one more BC for a vehicle I wanted to purchase just if it has matching numbers but at that time they told me it is not possible without proof of ownership.

Cheers

Ah, I've requested access to a whole batch of cards for a project - we'll see what they say.

My request was posted just over a week ago so I'll be waiting for a while yet I think

At the moment we are working on the English describtion of the Build Card study Juan made.
As my technical English is not good enough I asked my friend to correct the English details on the text.
Now a few questions on details on the BC themself came up:

The punching holes:
What is the meaning of the punching holes around/in between the writing "US War Dept."?
As there are no written information like in the Body Model or Gas Tank field for ex. - I don't know for sure.

Another question:
What does the "O" in "Sales O No" mean, Order?
And if so what does the information "sales order number" mean for a war vehicle which was not available in a civil version?

If nobody asked before I will write a mail to the Chrysler archive about these details.

The holes were punched in a particular location just for machine sorting Sylvia. Some of them we will never know exactly why that hole was there.

Sales O No is just sales order number, and every truck would have one, as every truck or batch of trucks was a sale, even to the government.

Another two questions:

what does the letters S.E.O. stand for?
Seen on the truck drawing you usually receive together with the BC.
For example S.E.O. 41812-16
(the number seem the same as on Spec. O. No.)

And
To make the body model list more complete, what is Body Model 16 for?
For example on the first build card, this is a VC5
Image

Body Model Numbers:
10 = Flat faced cowl
12 = Closed cab
13 = Panel van (also first hand-converted VC6 Carryalls)
19 = Reconnaissance (Command Car)
29 = Radio Reconnaissance (Radio Command Car)
39 = Ambulance
49 = Carryall
56 = Closed cab (half ton)
62 = Closed cab
66 = Express body with transverse rear seats
76 = Express body with no rearseats
86 = Gun motor carriage
90 = Flat faced cowl with bucket seats

With caveats and to be confirmed:
70 and/or 96 for 6x6 chassis (WC62 & 63) ?
50 for KD Ambulance chassis (WC64) ?

The body model probably is 16 - remember that is the rear body, which would be associated with the type 10 flat face cowl I think.

I don't see SEO on the card - where is it?

OK, I don't recognise SEO as meaning anything specific. It might be just a code for something, like Special Engineering Order, or it might even just be someone's initials.

Anyone else have anything?

Gordon, Gordon...

You need to read my study, if you want I'll send it in pdf format, but I need your e-mail.

jpelaez15@yahoo.es

Florence, your list of Body Model Numbers is for the previous models WC-51 to WC-64 KD.

The correct numbers for the serie wc-51 to wc-61, are in my studio.

Image.

There are two things.

S.E.O. may be the specification of the plane, may be, as Gordon says, the model specifications that must be assembled.

S.E.O. correspond exactly with the numbers that come in the drawing. With the plans we have, are only in the year 1942. Each year they change.

Second question: Sales O.N.. With BC, we have, we can see that each model, Dodge awarded a specific number. Changes each year.

Thanks Juan. I'm happy to keep reading here. I'm sure we'll get all this ironed out in the end.

Is it only me who gets dizzy trying to comprehend all this data? :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: I'm glad Juan has pointed out that the WC64 body code (yet to be affirmed by a build card, however) is 50.

The way to find out for sure is to know an owner of an ambulance 64KD

We request that he ask his B.C..

Do you guys know of any owner in the U.S.?.

I know an owner in France, but from Europe is more complicated send dollars.
