Hello Guido,

You have to remove the tank and cut a hole in it to have acces to that filter If your tank has already been opened before, then try to look first if the filter is still there before you cut it open. I have restored several Dodges and the KD is the first one where the filter was still in the tank.

Good luck

Finally got around to doing a decent run it it. Went to the Wings and Wheels at Elvington for the day. Good event. 100 mile round trip with no running problems at all, just nasty whirring noises from the clutc/gearbox sometimes when setting off/changing. So either the newpoints fixed the loss of power or cleaning the crud out of the fuel filter bowl did. Didnt get around to getting a new coil or condenser yet but these will be looked in to shortly. Thanks for all the suggestions chaps.

The problem is fixed :)
Afther checking everything (ignition, ccil, fulepump, lines and filter) the carburetor overhaul did the job. Replaced plunger, needle seat and gasked and that did the job.

Just one day before our holidaytrip with the family

Coil

I actualy had a 1990 Dodge Dakota with the V-6 and had the same exact problem, after the engine warmed up. Apparently as the dielectric (insulating oil) warmed up and lost density, the spark would ground out progressively until it died. This was actually visible by pulling a spark plug wire at the distributor- nice blue spark cold, fading to yellow then orange then very weak to nothing. As there were no points or condensor to mess with and the cap and rotor were fairly new and clean, replacing the coil was about the only choice. Ran another 150,000+ miles later until I sold it....
