Starting problems

My WC has been getting really bad to start of late.
The condenser has been replaced as has the coil & battery (6 volt )
It seems when turning over as though the starter is taking all the power & none of it to charge up the coil etc. Yet it'll turn over for ages with no drop off in battery performance but no spark (apparently). Yet it'll start first turn on the handle or when 'bumped'

Any ideas?

(& don't say convert to 12volt cause it ain't gonna happen!)

I would take the starter to an automotive electrical shop to be checked out.

Agree with Ranger (wouldn't dare not to) but when sorted fit a Spitfire spark boost between coil and cap. It is a simple replacement lead with a spark booster included. The system works by introducing a series of gaps which causes due to a lag in ampage and voltage through a gap a big boost in power. I have fitted one to my Dodge and My V8 Rover 101 a notorious thing to start, the result is amazing very cheap very easy can be taken out anytime.
