1/2 ton WC-40 to be scrapped(!) (re-post)

Post by Ken J »

Hi All:

(I thought I posted this yesterday but it wasn't listed in the Topics menu, so here it is again(?)):

A WC-40 1/2 ton is being scrapped in Riverside (Jurupa), California as we speak. It's frame number is 81500659. It is located at the north end of Pyrite Street in the Pick-A-Parts yard.

It had a V-8 installed as it was used as a tow truck (body still mounted with mechanical winch) but was otherwise the same.

The cab is the only original body part left, along with two short running boards (couldn't see if they were originally short or were chopped). The entire rolling chassis is intact except for the steering box.

A friend and I have "saved" several parts, and I will be back tomorrow for the remaining door and the transmission.

If anyone wants to get this chassis, I may be willing to help...... email me (serious only please). kenup942@earthlink.net

Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
