Post by Ray Edsall »

G,Day all . When did the US Army first use the wc51/2 as a radio Truck ? .Al so when was the dodge tray modified with the MP48 antenna bracket on the back panel of the tray ? Up until final production of the wc51/2 was there parallel production of 6 volt and 12 volt trucks . Ray

its all about TO&E, I dont think radio pickups were very common, what your really talking about is a TOC. tactical operation center. only located at brigade/regimental HQ run by the S-2/S-3 sections. armor guys put theres in halftracks, plain infantry were lucky to have a dodge for the motor pool sgt.
and cckw for the kitchen. TD guys seem to really vary. depending on the gun of the month. go to the military research page, and study the TO&E s it really varies.
