Well, I finally have the bed planks for my 41. They are planed to 1 inch and ready to cut to size. Just want to make sure I don't cut wrong. The forum shows in other conversations that the planks should be 8 inches wide and 78 inches long. Does this seem correct to you? The box is at the body shop so I can't test fit. All advice welcome
Rick

Measure twice, cut once.
Regardless of what anyone says or what drawings you have I STRONGLY advise you to go to the shop and measure the actual length on your body. They may not all be the same as different fittings/fastenings or minor body variations could see you cursing and redoing something.

Re: Cutting bed planks help
Six 8" planks sounds about right. Remember that later trucks had the same size made from cut and glued random-width boards though. Length was whatever the body was.
Not sure abut the 1" though. I remember civilian bed boards were slightly thinner and the military ones slightly thicker, but not the actual sizes.
