Hi Gents, need some help. I need a new ring gear as a poorly adjusted starter has damaged my existing one. The vehicle is a late model WC51 converted to a Lohner.
I just want to be sure that the combination of starter and ring gear I have is correct before ordering a new one. I don't want to potentially damage the new one.
My existing ring gear has an OD of 14 5/8 ins., an ID of 13 9/16 ins. and 146 teeth.
The starter I have is a 12v and has 9 teeth. Is this combination correct for a WC51?
Thanks,
New Flywheel Ring Gear

- My garage: Restored Old Henry, and have had this WC51 on the road around 3 years now... Currently finishing a brace of Ben Hur trailers, and starting a 67 Galaxie fastback. Concurrent with the WC I restored a 74 TR6... Oh the joys.
Re: New Flywheel Ring Gear
Midwest has them- I decided to go with a new (NOS) flywheel & ring gear, as the cost was NOT prohibitive, and saved refinishing the flywheel...

Re: New Flywheel Ring Gear
Hi Scott, I know here to get them and will be doing so, just wanting to make sure that my starter and the existing ring gear are the correct models and are compatible before ordering a replacement.
Cheers,
