Well I've done some research and updated some stuff.
First, thanks to Fred Coldwell for the better image of the VC listing.

This has given us some changes to numbers and I've updated the VC List accordingly;

Second, it appears that Ernie was right, in that the 398-QM-8039 contract that mentions VC2 and VC3 on the listing, but with T207 engines, is in fact a T207 series contract starting at chassis 8,644,701 ( about sixty chassis higher than the last known T202 VC. I dug out my copy of an early T207 Parts List from September 1940 to verify this;
It is still possible there was some crossover, but for me that starting chassis number strongly suggests these were T-207 trucks

I picked up an old copy of Army Motors magazine at Tower Park last week that had a few articles on the development of the VC. I believe the magazine was published in 1990. I don't know where they got their information but the articles states that the first WC's were WC sheetmetal on VC chassis.

I've seen the famous shot of an early WC sitting on a VC front axle - I suppose there would have been a few transitions one way or the other.
I recall the last of the VCs were fitted with T207 engines.

Yup,
the VC 6 is unique in that it wasn't prototyped till the second VC production batch / contract, and then the production vehicles were made in the third batch / contract.
VC and VF production must have finished August / September, but there was an export batch of VF T203B which were made right at the end of the model year too - possibly spilling into 1941 model year.

Here is some visible evidence of the truth of that statement:
The truck wears a 1940 Michigan Manufacturer's license plate and has WC 1/2 ton sheet metal on a VC chassis. I think this photo was taken at the "backyard" test track next to Chrysler's Mound Road Factory.
