I have a WC-3, ser. no. 8647512, body no. 1426, it has the original engine, T-207-4912. Hood no. 28713. Date built Dec. 5 1940, DOD 12-11-40. I hope this helps some on the data base.
Best Regards,
dash
I think you left a digit out of the hood/registration number...I think it should be W-218713, CONGRATS, yours is the 400th truck added to the listing!

Dear divingrocks,
The hood no. on my WC-3 is 28713, I agree with you according to the data you have it looks like it should be 218713. The truck was used on our family farm since the end of WWII and has always been stored inside so the paint is in good condition, the no. is very clear. Ha! I guess another one of those odd hood no's? If I can figure out how to post a picture of the hood on photobucket I will post it.
Thanks,
dash

Our WC21 project is nearing completion.

Was able to uncover the following data from sources on the truck

Chassis # 81524998 WC21 W250477 DOD 4-22-42

(Original engine and bumpers with any unit markings are long gone)

hello ,

another one for the list . wc-21 , frame / serial # 81503070 hood # 237318
engine # T 215 - 11146 build date 12-15-41 delivery date - ?
there are 3 data plates on the glove box door , they are not legible except for what was
hand stamped on them . unable to locate a data plate under the hood . missing data plate
on cargo box , stake pocket pillar ( drivers side front )

question , is there anyway to track where the truck was delivered to ; and its service history
up to point of being surplus for sale . I am almost positive that it never left the U.S.

thanks , kris :)

WC18
Build date Feb. 11, 1941
Serial number 8657236
I tried to calculate the W- number and got W-74403. Would that be correct?

looks like your truck is a WC1 and if your friends is an open cab it would most likely be a WC21
