Picture would be good Ken, but just whenever. My Ben Hur lives in the garage, and fortunately here in the UK you just put a plate on the back, same as the towing vehicle, rather than having a separate registration.

That location is exactly where the 4118A number was stamped on my K-38, too.

Mine has a USMC Reg No. stamped atop one of the Drawbar Rails near the body. The trailer was OD to start with with a USA number which I could not save on the tailgate. Trailer had the typical USMC undercoat with some on the bottom edge of tailgate.
Strange but true. I am just happyto have it as it sat from 1949-1989 stored inside a Hanger at the City that recrived it surplus from Dow Field. Tires were Commercial type but were cracked and I installed NDT's.

Number stamped into the top of the passenger-side tongue rail is "DR855885T" with the DR and T about 25% larger than the numbers.
