ccw & CCKW chassis differences

On another forum a post has been made on the differences between the CCW 6X4 chassis and CCKW 6X6 chassis. Now it is my understanding (and I could be wrong) that there is no difference in chassis measurements including metal thickness between the two and the chassis are identical, the only differences is the front axles and lack of transfer case in the CCW 6X4.

Is this correct? or are there differences and if so what are the differences?
