Waste of money. Only time it is necessary is when replacements cannot be found for worn or pitted cylinders. They are good for 30 years+ if the CCKW is given scheduled PM as the Army intended. The life of the brake components is directly proportional to the maintenance the vehicle gets.

If your truck is maintained with the philosophy that keeping a few extra brake return springs handy for exchanging old "tired" ones that cause sluggish operation, your truck will always have brake problems and be a danger to others.

IF YOU LIVE CLOSE TO SALT SEA AIR AS I DO AND YOUR VEHICLE STAYS OUT SIDE YOU WILL BE REPLACING OR REBUILDING YOUR WHEEL CYLINDERS OFTEN. SLEEVING IS THE WAY TO GO. I KNOW THAT BY SPENDING MANY HOURS AND LOTS OF MONEY.

And I know that NOS original will last 30+ years the first time around. If you are getting Salt Water condensation in your brake system it is all the more reason to flush and not ignore the corrosive situation.

Sure , if you have access to your own well staffed motor pool. Go ahead by all means.I'd rather spend the extra bucks than bleed brakes every six weeks due to salt air and high humidity.

Still a waste of money, regular flushing is the only way, there are a lot of other parts in the master cyl and hydrovac that are more critical plus all of the steel brake tubing.

Well for sure SS sleeves is no excuse for not regular flushing of your brake system. If you dont flush your system you will have problems, plus shorten the life of all that expensive brake equipment.Brake fluid is cheap.

I have serviced and sold parts for Army trucks professionally for over 5 decades and have observed the lifespan and wear patterns of the trucks and their components for longer than that. Sleeving new wheel cylinders is overkill as the cost of replacing worn cylinders cheaper than sleeving. Sleeving the cylinders lends false security as it lends to ignoring periodic wheel and brake preventive maintenance.
