MB SATURDAY MORNING

Started my MB that has sat since November. It was 30F and it spun over like summertime and was running in less than 10 seconds. No starting aids, block heater, etc., just strict PM by the TM, an NOS starter installed 20 years ago and a 4 month old Group #2 6 Volt Caterpiller battery. All wireing is OEM.
No need for 8 volts and 12 volts.
The CCKW parked next to it starts the same way, the key is good old GI PM.

My Brother has a Cat Group 2 Battery in his CJV-35, swears by it. Say's it really spins the old Flathead 6 in hot or cold weather. I probably will install one in my WC-12 one of these days. By the way, I am only on my second battery since I bought my truck 22 years ago. Believe it or not the 1st one lasted almost 10 years. This one in it now is still going strong. Maybe these are better than even a Cat Battery.

Quality 6V batteries will go a long time between replacements. I use Commercial 4 DELCO (731?) in my CCKW and go from 8-10 years each. The key is constant PM.
