One way to get to photo of the cargo bed assembly is to go to the WW2 Dodge Motor Pool site:

Search for "Dodge" photos untill you find one with the caption that reads:

Detroit, Michigan (vicinity). Chrysler Corporation Dodge truck plant. Heavy side members of Dodge Army trucks and other large parts are quickly handled by overhead cranes.

On the WC63 we are working on the shift tower was apparently dove gray as is the transmission and was then over-painted OD once the cab was installed.

Big day here today.

all the major pices are back on and its starting to look like my old truck.

Still need a pic of the firewall, outside and inside. Deen to figure out where all these vires go. And i failed to get a pic before i started.

you wil need one at least for the wiring diagrams. Also all the specs you need to service everything is there. you can get CDs online or buy the manual form Vintage Power Wagons. worth every penny.

i do have the TM9-808 and i do have a wiring diagram. And i think the replacement wiring harness i have orderd from Vintage Wiring of Maine come with a wiring diagram(not sure about that).

The pictures in my TM9-808 is realy bad so i cant see any details. and im not sure what hole is for what. Like where do the tube for oil presure go. Hand throttle and so on.

waht i do is look at pictures in different parts of the book to find what i am trying to see. oilpressure tube comes out next to the voltage regulator, the goes odwn a couple inches then a flag type bracke secures it to the firewall. choke and throttel cables come out hte center clip. study various photos and youshould be able to find most the things you forgot. if you have a reprint manual maybe thepics are not as good. I have originals so they are quite clear.

nice posting

want to add, that you have not only a WC52 but a reconversion of a WC55
this is visible on the reinforcements near the fuel tank, there was the anti tank gun mounted on

concerning the holes in the cargoboxes, this is for the chains which hold the seatbacks.
on the WC55 the rear seats were between the cargoboxes and so the chains could not fix on the end of the cargobox but where you have found the holes. for the hole in the middle of the cargobox i have no explanation.

i have one WC55 too, but missing the original cargoboxes :-(

did you not find some weldings or holes on the outside of the cargoboxes where the holders for shovel and axe where positioned?

Thanx, never thought about that the seets didnt go all the way to the end. I suspect the middle hole be some part of a raidio setup that was used in norway.

Yes i did find traces of welding on the outside of the cargoboxes. Its what first made me a aware that it was the original cargoboxes, that where still on the truck.

I have delibratly not welded the holes and grinded them smooth, but left the weld so its still visible where the holes where. I feel i wana show that this used to be a WC-55. Maybe somtime in the future someone wana put a canon back on it.

is it possible that can make a little sketch with some measurings to show us where exactly these holes were positioned? because i will rebuild mine as WC55 with all adds on it as original as possible.

can you post more pictures from the inside of the cargoboxes?
want to know if there were more differences in there to a standard cargobox
