They don't make an ugly Diamond T, do they, especially the hard cabs.
If you know anyone with a junk hard cab, I've got money here waiting for one of those cab roof ventillators...

Pics ?
If you get the chance I'd be very much obliged of a couple of pics of the thing dissassembled and with the insides visible, John.
I think I may have to end up making one for my WD21 copy of this thing;
Gordon@Dodge.org.uk if you get the chance

Re: updated Diamond T pics
Looks fine to me.
Clean, straight, all the original parts, and not hit with 60 years of salted roads like we get round here.
I drove a friend's open cab wrecker for a while. Loved the truck but hated the open cab
(oh, and I should mention that fuel has just topped the equivalent of US$ 10 per imperial gallon here, almost US$10 per US gallon, so no-one runs these things in the UK long enough to wear anything out)

Re: updated Diamond T pics
Gordon;
So I guess I should not complain that I am paying $2.95 per gallon . Anyways, I took the pictures of the roof ventilator, however my web host is down so I will try to post tommorow, as my restorastion comes along I will post before and after pictures.
Mechanically the truck is sound. It had a valve job prior to me buying it.
I have changed all the fluids, tuned it up (that JXC just purrs now). I am in the process of gathering all the correct style wiring so I can rewire the whole truck. I have all the recovery equipment except for the V tow bar. I have loctaed and purchased the correct Briggs and Stratton engine and air comprssor for the wrecker body and I have 8 brand new tires to mount. The tires on the truck have plenty of tread but the sidewalls are dry rotted. I am finishing up the restoration on the Clark Airborne Dozer as time (and funds) permits.

Re: updated Diamond T pics
Well I don't think there is anyone here that isn't short on funds, John.
It's nice that you have the time, space, and ability to get the T and the Clarks up and running. My friend's T ran very nicely, but it was really hard to start as somone had messed around with that complex starter switch.
It needed a new clutch too (or possibly just proper adjustment) but with no manual we didn't get to that before he sold it on.

Re: updated Diamond T pics
Thanks John, pics duly saved.
It looks like only the interior flapper door would be any bother to fabricate, which is worth knowing. Looks like they did quite a crude job of holing the roof too, don't you think?
If you had time to measure it front to back, side to side, height, and the bolt centres of the two bolts, that should be all I need.
Thanks again
