Anyone who has spent hours driving MB thru M-38A1 will have experienced this. After many miles while holdind the Accelerator Pedal at one steady speed, the Right Foot will have a hot or smarting sensation.
Jeep enginers installed a Rubber Accelerator Pedal beginining in 1955 on the M-38A1 to alleviate this sensation, and it worked!
