There were not many, and were all equipped with Dump Body. The US NAVY SEABEES released a large quantity of these in unused condition in the early 60s. Many were sold at the Quonset Point Naval Base. The trucks were stripped for theie JXD Hercules engines and 1 1/2 Cu Yard Capacity Dump Body which were sold serarately or reinstalled on Chevrolet 4X4 Trucks by Surplus Dealers. They were a popular item among New England Chicken Farmers. Few Survive. The Delco Instruments in my CCKW are NOS take outs from some of the Federal 2 GT 1 1/2 Ton 4X2 Dump Trucks. They were not all that useful because of low gearing and single speed rear axle. Few, if any survive, most were stripped for useful parts.

The 2GT was more valuable to part out for its new components, than it was on the hoof. There were 6 nice 750X20 Tires, the JXD Engine and the 1 1/2 Cu. Yard Capacity Dump Body that bould quickly bring the late 50s surplus dealer 16-18 hundred dollars for a vehicle that would normally be worth 1200 dollars complete. The rest of the truck would fetch another couple hundred over a period of time.
