When I got it, my Carryall had a crappy aftermarket handle on the tailgate exterior, and nothing on the inside. For the exterior I decided to modify a T-shaped M37 handle, which I had laying around. I had to cut the threads off and weld on some 5/16 square stock to extend thru the latch assembly.
For the interior I really like a T-shaped handle but didnβt want it sticking up when the tailgate is down, so I made a folding handle out of left over 5/16 square stock. Not exactly factory, but looks better than the door handles some people use, in my opinion. And it works well!
