I believe the Dodge data plate has 1/8" and the publications plate has 3/16"

We have looked at this before.

I'm sure the serial numbers on the data plates were 3/16" or 5/32", but the rest of the stamping was slightly smaller, 1/8" I think.

Not sure if it varies by year during production, probably not.

do you agree with Andersun that the publications plate is 3/16"?

I think the only sensible thing is to find an original and measure it.

All the plates were run off on machines, presumably with the same size stampings, but the chassis number must have been added on / near the assembly process with slightly larger typeface size

studying some pics of original main ID plates I am concluding that the serial number is stamped in 1/8' and the rest in 3/32". does anyone have a pic of an original TM-9 plate?

I stand corrected. Gordon your right on the serial number being 3/16 or 5/32 but studying the original plate 1/8 seems too big for the rest. I guess having some 3/32 and 1/8 stamps to test would be the best way. ebay here i come
