WC63

Post by Wolfen »

I just bought a WC63. I've never owned a open cab Dodge before. How do I tell if it is ready for canvas? It does have the bows. It came with the jump seat and gun ring.

If it has got the bows it is ready for canvas. The top has two pieces , the cab and the cargo cover the back of the cab buckles to the cargo cover. The cab cover is not the standard one but one that fits around the lags and opens up to the M49 ring and gun mount. All you need are the clips along the front of your windshield to attach the cab top to.

Thank you. Am I right in thinking that the standard canvas does not include the doors? If so, where can I get them? Also, has anyone installed a heater(besides the gasoline fired one that is impossible to find? If so, how difficult was it and where do I find one? One last thing, has anyone installed seat belts? If so, how difficult was it and where did you buy them?

First, very happy you now have a truck, welcome back to the Dark side
Second, The cab with the doors you see on some Dodges, is the cab that was a made for the WC64 ambulance. Wish you were on this coast, I have two out in the barn. The cabs are are hard to find with all the mounting gear. I traded a collector years ago a set of doors just to borrow a set of brackets to copy.
Good luck, and welcome back.

How much do you want for the doors? Also, does anyone have a source for the Artic heater? If not, what heater if any do you use? And how difficult was bit to install? And where can I get it?

You can not just buy the doors, you have to buy the whole cab kit, doors, cab, and frame work to put it up. The doors do not mate up with the regular cab top. If you google the WC64 you will see pictures of this cab. One cool part is, on the roof of this cab is an area to store the doors.
