serious rumors are stating, that Pierre, the organizer and "heart & brain" of the outstanding Tanks in Town Event will definitively quit after the 2016 issue of the Event. In fact is there a problem in finding a new organization team and in addition are legal issues making it more and more difficult to organize the "one of a kind" Event with the largest line up of WW2 Tanks and Armored MV on the European Continent. A serious threat, because 2013 for example was TiT canceled 6 week's before the Event, because the City of Mons wanted to ban all Tanks with steel tracks.
So the 17th edition of this great event with it's long tradition, is bringing again about 20 WW2 allied Tanks and approx. 30 or even more Armored MV as M8, Halftracks Scout Cars etc together - plus WW2 truck's as Dodge and GMC and light vehicles and MC in a large amount.
Notice: The organisator - the RMAC - is sponsoring the transport costs for each Tank that is brought to the Event, so that's one of the reasons that there is always a large group of Tanks lined up, coming from the U.K., France and the BeNeLux countries. So if you are interested in to bring your WW2 Tank to Mons contact the RMAC.
Now the first info's are at hand for this great WW2 MV Event & Liberation Festival at the City of Mons. So this will be again one of the major MV events in BeNeLux in 2016 with more than 50.000 spectators at Sunday's Tank parade in place!
In addition there is a nice and well organized WW2 Camp at Bois Brule on the outskirts of the City of Mons, incl. Taxi Tanks, an special for amphibious MV and a Militaria Market - so that you should not miss this Event!
