Hello Folk's,

the date for the Schmidtenhoehe Event 2015 is now confirmed!
This year is the date the first time NOT on the same weekend as Tanks in Town, so nobody has to choose where to go... :D

NEW: 03.09.-06.09.2015 Schmidtenhoehe Koblenz (G)
MV event with a unique opportunity for free (!) driving on the German Forces Tank training grounds close to the River Rhine and the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. Usually about 400 MV in place. Focus is clearly on post WW2 MV (= 98 % of all MV in place).
The Event is open to all types of vehicles - tracked as well (Tanks, Halftracks, Military Caterpillars etc.) - even those with steel tracks!
XXL Tank Car Wash (for a small fee) avaiable to bring your vehicles clean back.
Different off-road routes / off road skill levels to choose from, Tank-Taxi to the deepest mud hole, shopping area, beer & food tents and more...
Please notice: German WWII uniforms and vehicles, weapons (deactivated and muckabouts) are NOT allowed as well as the actual Bundeswehr Uniforms. This due to the fact that the Bundeswehr is owner of the area and has strictly prohibited such ones. See rules & regulations: http://www.mvd-koblenz.de/index.htm?open=27&p=6
Club homepage: http://www.mvd-koblenz.de/
That's what the camp looked like in 2014:

NEW: 01.-06.05.2015 Liberation Festival Pilsen, CZ-301 00 Pilsen (CZ)
Forgotten by many in Western Europe is the fact, that the Allied Forces liberated in the end of WW2 wide areas in the east that then later on became "satellite States" of the Sowjet Union. Back in 1945 the City of Pilsen was liberated by the troops of General Patton and the 17th Belgium Battalion - today to be remembered with the Patton Memorial at Pilsen and a friendship between Pilsen and the City of Mons (Belgium).
70 years after the End of WW2 and the end of the Sowjet Empire the City of Pilsen is today not only part of the European Community - Pilsen is in 2015 the "European Capital of Culture" and is remembering V-Day with an own Liberation Festival in large scale with full support of the Major of the City and local authorities.
So there will be Concerts (Lynyrd Skynyrd as the opening act) , Commemorations at the Patton Memorial with Veterans in Place, Convoy driving with MV as well as a MV collectors Camp. In addition will the Army of the Czech Republic and the US Army be with representatives in place and much more.
The full program can be found here:
http://www.liberationfestival.com

UPDATE (23.02.2015): ENTRY LIST FOR THE MV PARADE HAS BEEN CLOSED!
"Due to the large quantity of submitted vehicles to the Convoy of Liberty, the registration was stopped. Thank you for your understanding."

NEW: Ciney Militaria Fair autumn issue 2015 confirmed!

Since last year are rumors around that the Ciney Expo area has been sold and this spring issue of the Militaria Fair will be the last one (at the Expo area).

But - after having a second look at the Ciney Expo site - there are good news: the Expo has now announced the autumn fair as well. The second annual issue of the fair is to be held "as usual" on the 25.10.2015.

To sum it up: typical Wehrmacht collectors "insider" spare parts and militaria market with lots of Kuebelwagen and Wehrmacht-MC spares. Some few allied equipment parts too. The Böhler-barn offers a nice area for gasoline talks and beers together as well as a small private Museum with interesting vehicles as NSU Kettenkrad and more.
