Zenith Carburetor, M3-4?

Need help on some NOS Zenith Carburetors I just found. The model number is 63AW12R. It is an updraft carburetor. The boxes were sealed, some were dated in the 1950s and one had a date of 1948.
The International M2-4 used a model number 63AW11 carburetor, so I have my fingers crossed that 63AW12R is for the M3-4 truck. The M3-4 was used up into the 50s by the Marines.
Thanks!

Hello Frank,

I've got a couple of M-2-4's, so I'm a 63AW11 man. I found a link on the OldIHC.org site called the Carburetor Shop that gives a listing of carburetors used on Internationals. It seems the 63AW11 was very popular on all 1940's Military Internationals.

For the 63AW12R they say 1944-45 361 K-10 COE and 450 DR700. It says the rebuild kit for 63AW11R and 63AW12R are the same but different from the 63AW11.

If you might be willing to part with one of them carbs, would you let me know.

Thanks

Paul

Thanks for your help!
Would $50 each be to much? I am in North Carolina.
You can e-mail me at normandy@ec.rr.com
Thanks again for your help.

I picked up a bunch of 63AW11s (NOS) a while back from a guy in NC--anyone here recall his name? He was selling them out for around $50 as well--still all boxed up and shiny new . . .

will that carb work on a Dodge? is it in the same configuration as the Zenith model 29?

Fyi, if anyone decides to rebuild their Zenith, there is a thin paper called "Hydroil" that works great. I used a rubber stamp pad to ink the passages half of my carb and a paper punch and scissors to make the necessary holes.

The material provided by the aftermarket auto stores doesn't work too good for some reason, maybe too thick

Hi grim,

I've got a Zenith 63AW11 I would like to rebuild. Did you replace any of the jets, etc. If so, where did you get them from.

Thanks

Cleaned the existing jets, needle valve, etc. with brake cleaner, not carb cleaner. Didn't replace a thing except the gasket which fell apart upon disassembly of the carb. These are tough carbs, had a smaller version on our old Studebaker Gravely tractor.

grim,

Many thanks for the advice. I feel better about taking mine apart now.
