Hello Folks,

welcome to my private "Garage-Blog" with the latest new's on my Dodge WC51 project. :D
Here you can find some informations on the latest MV Event's I have visited in Central Europe, my militaria collection and research-project's as well as on my old Dodge "Battlehorse" that left production line on Dec. 7 1942.

Feel free to visit my private Dodge homepage too: http://www.steel-toys.com/

Keep 'em Rolling,

Joakim

As some of you might have heared about: Olli from Munich has sold his WC51 to me and since last Sat. 9.40 pm it has it's new home in Frankfurt.

It's a pitty that Olli had to sell his Dodge because out of several reasons (mainly because of cancelled garage contract) but on the other hand it's still in the "WW2 Dodge Community". :)

If you want to see some pictures of our pick up last weekend have a look here to see the full galery:

For the lazy ones is here a teaser:

Thank's a lot to Olli for the support and "good luck" for his next MV project in the future!
And - last but not least - special thank's to Alexander, my outstanding Co.-Driver that fixed all electrical problems "on the fly" without any tools!
- MacGyver is a bloody beginner compared to my old Luftwaffe Mechanic friend!

Keep them rolling,

Joakim

PS: Thank's to our wifes Sonja & Sabine for the "day off" for our new toys!

Looks great!

I wish you good luck and a lot of endurance with the idiots at the
"Frankfurt-Zulassungsstelle" (vehicle registration office).

Greetings from the other side of the river

Ulrich

 Mission accomplished!
The WC51 is registred and "road legal" (without any discussions with the stupid officials there!).
Nice new license plate: F-WC51 H (F= Frankfurt, H=Historic vehicle classification).

Keep them rolling,

Joakim

Grattis Joakim!

Looks like an extremely nice late model WC51. Could be the twin to my own WC51....

Now I only have to convince you to mark it as a Brazilian Expeditionary Forces vehicle

It's a good thing I changed the bumper markings from what were on the truck when I bought it.

Image

She now is marked to represent my son during his last deployment to Iraq. He was the 4th Inf Div G4. I live close to Fort Hood, Texas, where the 4th ID was based for many years and display my truck there every chance I get. The CG, 4ID was pleased that I was helping folks at Fort Hood remember that part of the Division's history.

I also display the Blue Star Flag on the windshield to represent my son and my daughter-in-law both of whom are Regular Army Officers.

That's very appropriate, well done.

I wonder how many youngsters these days know the significance?

Hi PFC.....

Do you know who made the canvas for the cargo cover on your truck or do you have a name for that color? I really like that color canvas.

You are right (I forgot to mention it) - F is for Frankfurt am Main (a.k.a. "Mainhattan" or "Bankfurt").
FD is for Fulda (Frankfurt an der Oder has FF).

Greetings across the "Big Lake", Joakim

Hejsan Göran! :D

Thank's for the flowers, but actually I stay with those markings. Maybe I start some respray next winter. Could be a chance to change to 3rd Armored Division "Spearhead" markings.
- They have liberated Frankfurt and been located after WW2 for many years in our area.
And Elvis was with them at Friedberg Garrison - only 20 km north of Frankfurt!

What about the Italy trip? Any updates?

Hälsningar, Joakim
