Vacuum wipers

Hello everyone…

I finally got around to looking at my vacuum wipers with the hopes of installing them. I found an old wanted ad that talked about the inner (922443) and outer (922444) spacers. I might have the inners, but I don’t think I have the outers.

I found them referenced in the manuals, but no pictures or diagrams. Can anyone post a picture of what these gizmos might look like?

I’m not sure what you are working on, but on my WC53 and Power Wagon truck, the wiper shaft comes through the roof skin at an angle above the windshield. The inner spacers fit over the wiper motor shaft (flat on one end & matches the inside roof angle on the other); then outside another spacer matches the roof and is flat on the outer end.

The spacers are aluminum or pot metal and are basically a tube, flat on one end, and matching the roof contour on the other. I think there is a locating pin molded into them, but would still be easy to fabricate.

I'm assuming your wipers are for your WC-52, which is an open cab. Wiper parts for open cabs are shown on page 343 of the Master Parts List. The mounting spacers were used on the early models, but not on the later ones. In the year/engineering model column, it gives the serial numbers for which option applies.
