Re: Hood number
Hola,
Difficult answer.
We have the following:
WC-62
1.- Theory:
W-374-ORD-2616......31,344 units ordered, military registration 3297503 to 3328846.
W-374-ORD-20-018-359......4,100 units ordered, m.r. (hood number) 3418214 to 3422313.
W-374-ORD-20-018-8300......993 units ordered, m.r. 3514165 to 3515157.
Total units ordered......36,437
2.- Real:
Units received:
W-374-2616......year 1943: 20,097......year 1944: 2,002. Total 22,099.
20-018-8300......year 1945: 993. Total 993.
Total units received: 23,092.
Builds Cards that we have: WC-62
82 005585...8.Jun.43...Spec.O.Nº: 42710...Sched.Nº: 54460
82 016078...24.Aug.43...Spec.O.Nº: 42710...Sched.Nº: 61971
82 032281...28.Dec.43...Spec.O.Nº: 42710...Sched.Nº: 70230
82 042077...27.Jul.45...Spec.O.Nº: 42778...Sched.N: 399
Do you have the B.C., of your Dodge WC-62?... It would be very interesting to know the data of Spec.O.Nº and Sched.Nº., and so we could get close enough to your hood number.
If you do not have the B.C., I would be in favor of approaching the end of the 22,099 units manufactured in 1943 and 1944.
That is to say: 3297503 + 22,099 = 3319603.
In 1944, 2,002 units were manufactured. If you say that it is late, for example among the last 500 units of 1944, then...
3319101 to 3319603..... U.S.A - 3319350 (for example)
This is my theory.
Question:
What happened to the second order?....I do not know.
Do you agree ... or... not?
Regards,
Juan.
