VC3 Tailgate

Post by DODGEWC53 »

Hello Guys,

I am looking for pics and dimensions for the VC3 tailgate.
Are they the same as on the 1/2 ton dodge pickup? :?:
Anyone who reproduces them?

Thanks

Eric

Same as half ton Eric.

There is a company in the US that sells panels through Vintage Power Wagons. I think you might have to alter the top locking tabs a little.

You need just the plain early panel, no DODGE script, no top brackets. Let me know if you can't find it. The panel itself was pretty much the same 1940-45, but the brackets changed.

This is one of those reproduction tailgates on my VC 3. It is exactly the same as the ( very battered ) original that I took off, except the original had two tie-down rings on it.

If a VC tailgate is the same as the 1/2 ton, then it's the same as the 3/4 ton.

The tailgate in Gordon's photo would be the repro tailgate here:

http://mack-products.com/products-page/ ... 1939-47-2/

The SB means small bracket (chain bracket) 70900 and comes without the tie downs normally seen on the VC and 1/2 tons but is the same otherwise.

If Mack Hils won't ship overseas, then you will have to buy from MWM, VPW or Roberts.
